On the obverse of the coin at the top there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine, under which the year of coinage 2017, in a circle of inscriptions: NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE (above), FIVE GRIVES (bottom), the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine; in the center is the composition, which is a kind of visual portrait of the region: a unique wooden church of the 18th century, built without a single nail, the Trinity Cathedral, to the right of which stylized objects symbolizing the priority development in the region of rocket-space construction and metallurgical production — a satellite against the stars and a ladle, under which - a flower - a fragment of Petrikov painting and a brush, on the left - ears of corn, which indicates a powerful agricultural potential of the region.

On the reverse of the coin, the coat of arms of the region is depicted, the inscriptions are placed in a circle: Dnipropetrovsk region (above), FOUNDED IN 1932 (below).

It is dedicated to one of the most economically developed regions, which is characterized by a favorable geographical location in the central part of the country, rich in natural resources, powerful scientific, industrial and cultural potential, developed agricultural production - Dnipropetrovsk region.
