On the obverse of the coin at the top there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine and a semicircular inscription NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE, in the center against the pen there is a matrix with which a page from the book Apostle was printed, at the bottom - face value of 5 hryvnia and the year of minting of the 2010 coin.
The reverse of the coin shows a stylized portrait of Ivan Fedorov, to the left of the portrait is his printed sign, to the right are the years of life 1510/1583 and at the top in a semicircle a stylized inscription - IVAN FEDOROV.
Dedicated to Ivan Fedorov, an outstanding figure in Eastern Slavic culture, a famous printer, as well as an engineer-inventor, engraver, castor, who issued the first printed books in Ukraine, the Apostle (one thousand five hundred and seventy-four), a textbook of Eastern Slavs, Bukvar (one thousand five hundred seventy four), the Ostrog Bible (1581).
