The obverse of a coin in a circle of beads depicts a crowned composition that embodies the idea of unity of Ukraine: the small State Emblem of Ukraine surrounded by floral ornament is supported by a lion and a Cossack with a musket and circular inscriptions: on a silver coin - UKRAINE, 20 griven 2001, and metal and its samples - Ag 925, clean weight - 62.2; logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.
The reverse of the coin in a circle of beads on the background of a map of Ukraine depicts the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and circular inscriptions: 10 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE OF UKRAINE, 1991, 2001. Between the dates there is a holographic image of a solar sign.
