On the obverse of the coin are placed: semicircular inscriptions: UKRAINE (above), FIVE GRYVEN (below), in the center is the small State Emblem of Ukraine, under which is the year of minting of the coin 2018; on the right is the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.

On the reverse of the coin are placed: at the top of the inscription SEVASTOPOL; a composition that symbolizes the city: a sailing ship (above), under which is one of the symbols of the city — a bridge built at the beginning of the twentieth century, an anchor cross, a ship cannon and a pyramid of cores (left), above which are the columns of Chersonesus; below - decorative elements in the form of grapes and leaves.
