The obverse of the coin depicts a Christmas star - a traditional attribute associated with the Gospel legend of Christ, in the center of which is placed the small State Emblem of Ukraine, and above it the year of coinage - 2002; surrounded by a stylized baroque ornament posted inscriptions: UKRAINE, 5 griven, and the logo of the Mint National Bank of Ukraine.

The reverse of the coin depicts a traditional festive scene - a Christmas caroling group, in the center of which is a crowd with a Christmas star, and in a circle are placed the inscriptions: HOLIDAY OF CHRISTMAS (left), CHRIST (right).
