On the obverse of the coin at the top there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine, under which the year of coinage is 2012, in a circle of inscriptions: NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE (above), FIVE GRYVEN (bottom), in the center there is a composition - a vessel, an amphora and an antique coin, a bouquet of sunflowers , grapes and spikelets, on the right - the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine.

On the reverse of the coin, the coat of arms of the region is depicted and the inscriptions are placed in a circle: The Nikolaev region (above), founded in 1937 (below).
