The obverse of the coin contains an image of Mowgli with a panther (zoo logo), on the right is an image of the small State Emblem of Ukraine and the inscription: UKRAINE, 2001, 2, hryvnia and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.

On the reverse of the coin there are representatives of the fauna of different continents, which are in the zoo, and circular inscriptions are placed: Nikolaev Zoo (above), 100 years (below).

Dedicated to one of the oldest zoos in Ukraine. The Nikolaev Zoo is part of the European Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is one of the leading centers for the conservation and reproduction of captive animals, of which there are more than 350 species.
