On the obverse of the coin in the center there is an image of the small State Emblem of Ukraine, to the right and to the left of it are stylized images of the stadium stands and bay leaves. Above the emblem is the inscription UKRAINE, under the emblem of 1996 is the year of coinage. Below in a circle denomination symbols: 2000000 RUBLES. On both sides of the date of embossing placed the designation and sample of the precious metal Ag 925 and its weight in purity 31.1.

On the reverse of the coin in the center there is an octagonal cartouche with the profile of a young woman in a wreath with flowers - a symbolic image of Ukraine, which is based on a drawing from the State Credit Card of 1918, made by George Narbut. Above the cartouche are figures of five antique athletes, below the cartouche there are figures of five modern athletes. On the right is the cartouche of the emblem of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, on the left - the inscription in two lines ATLANTIC XXVI. At the top in a circle is the inscription FIRST PARTICIPATION IN SUMMER OLYMPIC GAMES.
