The obverse of the coin depicts the Miraculous Icon of the Mother of God of Svyatogorsk, on both sides of which two angels hold gifts - coins, crosses, pendants, etc., UKRAINE with a semicircle at the top, the small State Emblem of Ukraine on the right, and the year of coinage - 2005 in the bottom in a semicircle - P five griven; logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.

The reverse of the coin on the bank of the river depicts the ancient Svyatogorsky Assumption Monastery, located at the foot of the mountains covered with dense forest, and at the top in a semicircle inscription Svyato-Uspenskaya Svyatogorsk Lavra.

It is dedicated to the famous architectural and historical monument (XVII - XIX centuries) - Svyatogorsk Uspensky Monastery, which was granted the status of laurels in 2004. The monastery, built at the foot of the mountains on the right bank of the Seversky Donets River, was first mentioned in 1624. The main role in its architectural composition is played by the Nicholas Church (XVII c.) - The oldest church of the monastery, the main part of which is located in the rock.
