On the obverse of the coin at the top there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine, in a circle of inscriptions: NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE (above), FIVE GRIVEN (below), to the right - the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine; in the center - the image of the Kirovohrad Academic Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater. M. L. Kropivnitsky (theater of the luminaries), under which the year of coinage is 2014, and also the hyperboloid tower of V. G. Shukhov, the symbol of the peaceful atom, seeder, ears of corn and sunflower.

On the reverse of the coin, the coat of arms of the region is depicted; there are inscriptions in a circle: Kirovograd Region (above), founded in 1939 (below).

Dedicated to one of the most saturated with mineral resources of the region, the mineral and raw material potential of which is more than 340 mineral deposits.
