The obverse of the coin in the center in a circle of beads depicts the small State Emblem of Ukraine surrounded by an allegorical composition of the sun, a stylized wing, birds (right) and stars, embodying the dream of humanity to reach cosmic heights, and circular inscriptions: UKRAINE, 2003, 5, GREEN. and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.
The reverse of the coin shows the AN-2 aircraft and circular inscriptions: Above - UKRAINE AIRPLANES; below - AN-2 and AN-2, between which the logo "AN" is placed.
Dedicated to a multi-purpose aircraft designed for the carriage of goods and passengers, the founder of a large family "Anov". The first flight of the aircraft took place on August 31, 1947, and mass production began in 1949 at the Kiev aircraft factory (now Aviant). A total of 18 aircraft modifications were developed.
