On the obverse of the coin at the top there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine, in a circle of inscriptions: NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE (above), FIVE GRIVEN (below), to the right - the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine; in the center - the Dneproges dam, the construction of which at one time gave impetus to the rapid development of industry in the region, above which is the minting year of the coin 2014, the symbols of the region are placed in a circle: aircraft (engine building), pouring ladles (ferrous metallurgy), sunflower and wheat ears (rural) economy), as well as the sign of the peaceful atom (atomic energy).

On the reverse of the coin, the coat of arms of the region is depicted; there are inscriptions in a circle: Zaporizhia region (above), founded in 1939 (below).
