On the obverse of the coin at the top there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine, the semicircle inscription is the NATIONAL BANK of UKRAINE, at the bottom is the year of coinage, the denomination is 2010 / TWO hryvnias, the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine; in the center is the State Flag of Ukraine (the element of decoration is enamel) framed by a stylized viburnum wreath.
The reverse of the coin shows the outlines of the map of Ukraine on a broken broken background, which symbolizes the difficult way of creating a sovereign state; there are inscriptions: July 16/1990 (in the center against the background of the map), the state sovereignty of UKRAINE (semicircle at the top), Declaration (semicircle at the bottom).
Dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR of a political-legal document, which proclaimed the state sovereignty of Ukraine, as the supremacy, independence, completeness and indivisibility of state power within its territory and independence and equality in external relations.
