A small State Emblem of Ukraine and inscriptions: NATIONAL / BANK / UKRAINE / 2 / HRIVNY / 2008, in addition to the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine are placed on the obverse of the coin framed in a wreath formed from images of certain types of flora and fauna
On the reverse of the coin there is a neck with a chick in the nest and a semicircle with the inscriptions: AEGYPIUS MONACHUS (above) and GRILL BLACK (below).
Dedicated to the black vulture (row - Falconiformes, family - Hawks) - the only species of the genus, it nests only in the Southern Crimea. The species range covers Southern Europe and Asia (mountainous areas). Black vulture is listed in the Red Book of Ukraine and the European Red List.
