The obverse of the coin on the right shows a bandura against the background of a horizontal ornamental strip, above which is placed the small State Emblem of Ukraine, the inscription UKRAINE and the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine, below the strip are inscriptions in three lines: 2, GRIVNY, 2003.
Dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Ukrainian kobzar Ostap Nikitovich Veresya (Ostap Sokirinsky, Labza, Radchyshyn) (1803 - 1890). Possessing powerful artistic means of influencing the listener, the kobzar tried to carry only high ethical standards to the people, to give positive emotions, to find the words that were expected of him. T.Shevchenko in 1860 gave him his `Kobzar`. Creativity Veresaya attracted the attention of Lysenko, I. Franko, F. Kolessi, N. Grinchenko and others. His concerts were held in Kiev and St. Petersburg.
