On the obverse of the coin there are: a semicircular inscription NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE, at the top - the small State Emblem of Ukraine, under which the denomination is 20 / griven; against the background of a laurel wreath depicted in a circle - a composition of three hands in armor entrusted to the sword, symbolizing the knightly brotherhood, the oath of warriors on arms before the battle, on the right the coin minting year - 2010.
On the reverse of the coin there is a composition (diagonally) - on the relief planes (above and below) the soldiers are shown, they are advancing; on the mirror background of the inscription - the Grunwald (top left) BATTLE (bottom right), 600 years old (center).

Dedicated to one of the largest battles in medieval Europe - the Grunwald battle in July 1410 between the knights-crusaders of the Teutonic Order and the combined forces of the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, which included among others military units from the Ukrainian lands.
