On the obverse of the coin is framed by a wreath, formed from images of certain types of flora and fauna, the small State Emblem of Ukraine and inscriptions in four lines: on a silver coin - UKRAINE, 10 griven, 2003, and the designation of the metal and its sample - Ag 925, clean weight - 31.1 and the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine
The bison is depicted on the reverse of the coin, around are the circular inscriptions: BISON (above) and BISON BONASUS (below).

It is devoted almost completely exterminated to the representative of the detachment of an artiodactyl, the breeding and settlement of which in Ukraine has been successfully restored since 1965.
