On the obverse of the coins in the frame of a baroque ornament decorated with seraphim heads, there is a small national emblem of Ukraine and inscriptions in four lines: UKRAINE, 100 griven, 1998 (on a gold coin) and the designation and sample of the precious metal Au 900 and weight in purity 15.55.
On the reverse of the coins there are images of the Assumption Cathedral, which was destroyed in 1941, its ruins and the circular inscription USPENE SOBOR of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra of the XI century.
