Dedicated to the launch of an electric tram in Kiev. Electric tram was created by the inventor and famous engineer Werner von Siemens. In 1881, his company opened the first tramway in the world between Berlin and Lichterfeld. In the same year, electric trains began to ply the streets of Paris. In June 1892 in Kiev, one of the coolest in the city of Aleksandrovsky Descent (now Vladimirsky) set off an electric tram. His route ran from Tsarskaya Square to the Lower Square (now European and Postal). The invention of Siemens was very useful for the `city on seven pagorbs`. By the end of the XIX century Kiev was almost 50 kilometers of electrified tram tracks.
