On the obverse of the coin at the top there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine and a semicircle inscription NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE, in the center there is a wind rose as a symbol of sea wanderings, to the right and left of which is a stylized floral ornament and sailboats, between which the coin minting year is 2013; below on a mirror background - face value 5 / UAH and on the right the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.

During the period of activity of the Kherson Admiralty, which was one of the main centers of shipbuilding in the south of Russia from 1778 to 1827, 34 battleships and 16 frigates descended from its stocks.
