On the obverse there are coins: at the top is the inscription UKRAINE, under which is the small State Emblem of Ukraine; in the center - against the background of a stylized cross and the globe - a symbol of medicine - a bowl with a snake, the year of coinage - 2018 (left) and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine (right); below - face value 2 / HRV; on the mirror surface, the motto of the Academy is Ukrainian and Latin: STABILITY · PERFECTION · DEVOTION (on the left in a semicircle) VIRTUS · EXCELLENTIA · FIDELITAS (on the right in a semicircle).

On the reverse of the coin there are: at the top in the medallion a portrait of P. L. Shupyk, inscriptions: NATIONAL / MEDICAL (stylized) (the letter M is red, pad printing is used) / ACADEMY / POST-EDUCATIONAL EDUCATION / NAMED AF P. P. Dedicated to the leading institution of postgraduate education, a modern scientific center that provides training for specialists, scientific and pedagogical personnel and advanced training of doctors, pharmacists and junior medical specialists for the health sector. The Academy is the successor of the Clinical Institute for the Advanced Training of Doctors, who was one of the first educational and scientific institutions established in November 1918 on the initiative of the medical community of Kiev - the Union of Kiev Doctors.
