On the obverse, coins are placed: at the top is the small State Emblem of Ukraine, under which is the inscription UKRAINE; in the center against the backdrop of the mirror cruciform plan of the Catherine’s Church - the coat of arms of Lizogub; Year of coinage 2017 (right) below the inscription - 10 / griven.

The reverse of the coin depicts one of Chernigov’s visiting cards - the Catherine’s Church (a bird’s-eye view), which greets the guests of the city, and it’s placed: ).

Dedicated to the church, which is the embodiment of the best traditions of the national sacral architecture. The temple was built in the style of the Ukrainian Baroque in memory of the heroism of the Cossacks of the Chernigov regiment, which they discovered during the assault on the Turkish fortress of Azov in 1696 under the command of Colonel Yakov Lizogub. The church is located in the historic center of Chernigov, on a hill, in its form repeats the typical Cossack wooden church, erected at the expense of the Cossack brothers Jacob and Semyon Lizogubiv and consecrated in 1715.
