A small State Emblem of Ukraine and a semicircle inscription NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE are placed on the obverse of the coin, in the center of a stylized wreath of flowers and leaves is a sculptural portrait of the founder and first director of the garden, indicating the name and surname Christian Steven; at the bottom - the year of coinage 2012 and the semicircle inscription: FIVE CHRYVEN, on the left is the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.
On the reverse of the coin are depicted: a lake with a fountain in the middle, in the background, against the background of the sea horizon - one of the corners of the garden with a gazebo; inscription on the background of the lake below - Nikita / Botanical Garden / 1812 - 2012.
