On the obverse there are coins: at the top is the small State Emblem of Ukraine and the inscription UKRAINE; in the center there is a stylized image of animals in the zoo, meeting little visitors at the entrance; bottom - year of issue 2015, face value (2 hryvnia) and stamp of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine
Dedicated to one of the oldest zoos in Europe, which served cultural and educational functions, and is an architectural landmark of Kharkov. The zoo is located in the city center, occupying an area of 22 hectares and contains about 400 species of fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. Among them are 145 rare and endangered species listed in the international red book and the red book of Ukraine.
