On the obverse of the coin at the top there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine, to the right and to the left of which there is a stylized floral ornament, in the center is a composition symbolizing the scientist’s ethnographic research — folk musical instruments, hetman’s kleynodes, etc., above which is the inscription NATIONAL / BANK / Of UKRAINE, below - 2 / HRIVNY / 2009 and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.
On the reverse of the coin, the portrait of Chubinsky in an ornamental frame is depicted and the inscription is placed - PAVEL CHUBINSKY (semicircle at the top), years of life - 1839 (left), 1884 (right).
Dedicated to Pavel Chubinsky - ethnographer, folklorist, poet, public and cultural activist, author of the National Anthem of Ukraine “Ukraine has not yet died”. Pavel Platonovich rightfully belongs to one of the most honorable places in the pleiad of the Grodmaisky and scientific figures of the second half of the XIX century. Thanks to the titanic efforts of which the national revival of Ukraine became possible.
