Dedicated to an important event in world sporting life - the XXII Winter Olympic Games in the city of Sochi (Russia) and the participation of the national team of Ukraine in them. The history of the Olympic movement in Ukraine began in 1952, when our athletes for the first time participated in the XV Olympic Games in Helsinki as part of the national team of the Soviet Union. Since then, Ukraine has been developing and strengthening its position - our athletes won 620 medals. The Olympic movement in Ukraine is coordinated by the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, founded on December 22, 1990. Its activities are to ensure the participation of Ukrainian athletes in the Olympic Games, to promote mass sports and a healthy lifestyle, and to strengthen international sports cooperation.
