On the obverse of the coin at the top there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine, in a circle of inscriptions: NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE (above), FIVE GRIVEN (below), to the right - the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine; stylized composition: a wooden church is depicted on the background of Mount Hoverla, the Kolomya Pisanka Museum, an oil-producing pumping unit, the year 2014 was minted in the center of the coin, as well as a snowboarder and an edelweiss flower.

On the reverse of the coin, the coat of arms of the region is depicted, the inscriptions are placed in a circle: IVANO-FRANKOVSK AREA (above), founded in 1939 (below).

Dedicated to the picturesque region, rich in forests, healing mineral waters, natural resources (fuel and energy, chemical, construction), with a variety of flora and fauna. Ivano-Frankivsk region is located in the south-west of Ukraine, at the junction of two large natural-geographical zones - the East European Plain and the Eastern Carpathians. It is here that the highest point of Ukraine is located - Mount Hoverla (2061 m) and such famous ski resorts: Yaremche, Mykulychyn, Sheshory, Vorokhta, Yablunitsa.
