On the obverse of the coin there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine, the NATIONAL BANK / UKRAINE inscription (above), in the center against the map of Europe with the inscriptions Kiev and WARSZAWA image of the official UEFA EURO 2012 ™ logo, made using color enamel, under the card face value of the coin - 500 Griven; the circle of the coin depicts the silhouettes of the architectural monuments of the cities in which the matches of the final tournament, football players will take place, and also the dates of the games.

The reverse of the coin shows a stylized game composition - in the foreground is a dynamic figure of a football player with a ball, in the background are two players and a silhouette of a goalkeeper, the words FINAL / TOURNAMENT (top left), CHAMPIONSHIP / EUROPE / FOOTBALL / 2012 (bottom right) are displayed.
