On the obverse of the coin in the circle of beads there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine, above which is the minting year of the coin 2006; between the bead circle and the piping of the coin are the inscriptions: NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE (above), 2 hryvnias (below), and the designation of the metal, its samples - Au 999.9 (left), weight - 1.24 and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine (on right).

On the reverse of the coin a hedgehog is depicted and the inscriptions are placed: EZH (above) and ERINACEUS (below).
