On the obverse of the coin, on the background of a symbolic composition of letters ʻI`, is the inscription UKRAINE (with a latent image), above which is the small State Emblem of Ukraine; the inscription on the mirror background below is a line from I. Franko’s poem “IT'S NOT TIME” ... WE'RE TIME FOR UKRAINE TO LIVE US!, face value is 20 griven and the year of minting of the coin 2016.

The reverse of the coin against the background of a stylized bouquet depicts a map of Ukraine with a yellow and blue flag (the decoration is enamel) and an inscription of 25 years (above the map), INDEPENDENCE OF UKRAINE (on the map).
