The obverse of the coin in the center in a circle of beads depicts the small State Emblem of Ukraine surrounded by an allegorical composition of the sun, a stylized wing, birds (right) and stars, embodies the dream of humanity to reach cosmic heights, and circular inscriptions: silver - UKRAINE, 2003, 10 , HRYVEN, and also designation of metal and its test - Ag 925, weight in purity - 31,1; and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.
Reverse
The reverse of the coin depicts an AN-2 airplane and circular inscriptions: Above - UKRAINE AIRPLANES; below - AN-2 and AN-2, between which the logo "AN" is placed.

The coin is dedicated to a multi-purpose aircraft intended for the carriage of goods and passengers, the founder of the large Anov family. The first flight of the aircraft took place on August 31, 1947, and mass production began in 1949 at the Kiev aircraft factory (now Aviant). A total of 18 aircraft modifications were developed. The AN-2 is one of the most massive and durable aircraft in the world, whose serial production continues. He was exported to 23 countries of the world.
