On the obverse of the coin, on the background of the map of Ukraine, there is a sheaf of 25 ears with an overhang, which symbolizes Ukraine. In the center in the foreground is the small State Emblem of Ukraine, on the left under the map is the year of minting of the coin 2004, the inscription on the bottom right is CRIMEA. The semicircle on the coin contains the following inscriptions: UKRAINE (above), 5 griven (below) and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.
