The obverse of the coin in the center shows the flow of integral curves in the coordinate system, as well as the small State Emblem of Ukraine, the inscriptions in four lines: UKRAINE, 2001, 2, HRIVNY and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.

The reverse of the coin depicts a portrait of Ostrogradsky, on the left - the integral of a fractionally rational function (the method of integrating such functions is named after him); on the right there is a semicircle inscription in two lines: 1801-1862, Mikhail Ostrogradsky.
