On the obverse of the coin, on the matted background of the desert landscape with human footprints (left) above, the small State Emblem of Ukraine, under which is the inscription UKRAINE; on the right is the year of minting - 2015 the nominal value at the bottom is 2 / HRIVNY and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.

On the reverse of the coin, a lizard is depicted on a matted background of a desert landscape, with a semicircle at the top - the inscription Oleshkovskie sands.

It is dedicated to a unique natural object, one of the largest sandy massifs in Europe, almost 150 km long, about 30 km wide, - Oleshkovsky Sands (Kherson region). This sandy massif with preserved rare plant and animal groups with rare, endemic and relict species in 2010 was declared the National Natural Park.
