On the obverse of the coin at the top there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine, in a circle of inscriptions: NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE (above), FIVE GRIVEN (below), to the right - the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine; in the center - a stylized composition: the image of the tower of Lutsk castle, the Assumption Cathedral in. Vladimir-Volynsky, islands on Lake Svityaz, under which the year of coinage is 2014, as well as a swan (above), ears of corn, and flax flowers (below).
On the reverse of the coin, the coat of arms of the region is depicted, in the circle there are inscriptions: Volyn region (above), founded in 1939 (below).
It is dedicated to the edge of the eternal forests, hundreds of sky-clear rivers and lakes, which include the deep lake Ukraine - Svityaz. Volyn is also rich in various mineral resources. Volyn region is located in the north-western part of Ukraine, in the basin of tributaries of the Pripyat and the upper reaches of the Western Bug, at the crossroads of important transport routes, contributes to the active development of international relations.
