It is dedicated to the first Ukrainian high-level school - the Ostroh Academy founded by V. Ostrozky in 1576. Slavic, Greek, Latin and so-called free sciences (grammar, arithmetic, rhetoric, logic, etc.) were taught in this school . Its first rector was the writer GD Smotritsky, and the pupils were the famous scientist and writer M. Smotrytsky, hetman Peter Sagaidachny and others. The Ostrog Academy is closely connected with the printing house, in which the works of school teachers were printed, and in 1581 Ivan Fedorov published the Ostrog Bible.
