On the obverse of the coin at the top there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine, in a circle of inscriptions: NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE (above), FIVE GRIVEN (below), to the right - the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine; in the center is a stylized composition: on the background of the mountains is the Mukachevo castle, under which the year of coinage is 2016, on the right is a skier on a lift, wine barrels, a stylized image of thermal springs and a sample of wooden architecture is a church.
On the reverse of the coin, the coat of arms of the region is depicted on the background of an ornamental dish;
It is dedicated to the western region, the only region of Ukraine, which borders on four countries - Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia. 70 percent of the territory is occupied by mountains, which results in the uniqueness of the natural landscape, the wealth and diversity of its resource potential. These features determine the originality of the socio-economic development of the region, and the color of its ancient traditions, and the way of life of people and the like.
