On the obverse of the coin at the top there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine, in a circle of inscriptions: NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE (above), FIVE CHRIVAN (below), on the right - the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine; in the center is a stylized composition symbolizing the Belgorod-Dnestrovskaya (Akkermanskaya) fortress, under which is the year of minting of the coin 2017 (right), stylized waves and a ship, the port crane (left) below - a sandy beach with a chaise-lounge and umbrella, an amphora and grapes.

On the reverse of the coin, the coat of arms of the region is depicted, the inscriptions are placed in a circle: Odessa region (above), FOUNDED IN 1932 (below).

Sectoral corrugation

The coin is dedicated to the “sea gate” of our country, the coastal region, located at the intersection of the most important international waterways: the Danube, Dniester, Dnieper - Odessa region. This is a highly developed industrial region, in which one of the leading places is occupied by the marine economy, has a complex intersectoral structure and covers various types and forms of economic activity. Odessa region is rich in life-giving springs of mineral waters (`Kuyalnik '), which have an important balneological significance.
