On the obverse of the coin there is a treble clef, framed with a bouquet of wild flowers, above it on the right is the small State Emblem of Ukraine, below is the year of minting of the coin 2003 and circular inscriptions: UKRAINE (left), 2 grivny (right) and the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine.

On the reverse of the coin there is a portrait of Boris Gmyri, to the right of which in two lines the years of his life - 1903-1969, below - the facsimile of an outstanding singer.

Dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Boris Romanovich Gmyri - singer (bass), who reached the heights of world performing art. Soloist of the Kharkov (1936) and Kiev (1939-1957) Opera and Ballet Theaters, People's Artist of the USSR (1951), winner of the USSR State Prize (1952). Over the years of his creative life, he contributed over 600 chamber works, 39 operatic parts, 85 fragments from vocal-stage and symphonic works to the world performing treasury.
