On the obverse of the coin on the mirror background in the center there is an inscription NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE, above which is the small State Emblem of Ukraine, under the inscription in three lines the denomination and the year of coinage: 2 / GRIVNY / / 2007, as well as four triangular sectors, which are decorated with floral ornament in the Baroque style and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.

The reverse of the coin depicts a portrait of Ivan Ogienko, to the right and to the left of which the years of life of 1882 - 1972 are placed on the circle segments, the inscription by IVAN OGIENKO is placed in a semicircle at the bottom left.
