On the obverse of the coin at the top there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine and semicircular inscriptions NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE, below the denomination - TWENTY griven, right year of minting coins - 2011, depicting the stylized iconographic image of the creator of Peresopny Gospel on a cross-shaped ornamental stripes.

The reverse of the coin shows four miniatures of the initial illustrations for each of the books of evangelists, on the right and left are ornamental gilded stripes from the decor of Peresopnytsia Gospel, there are inscriptions between the miniatures: at the top, the year of commencement of work on the Gospel - 1556 / year, at the bottom of the year of completion - 1561 / year, in the middle is a stylized inscription - Peresopnytsia Gospel.

Dedicated to the outstanding historical memorandum of the spiritual culture and writing of the Ukrainian people of the mid-16th century. - Peresopnitsky Gospel. In terms of content, the Peresopnytsia Gospel is a traditional tetra-gospel containing four canonical Gospels, the first ancient Ukrainian-language monument of Russian written language that has reached our days. In 1561 in Peresopnitsky Prechistensky (Nativity of the Virgin) monastery the work on it was completed. The translator of the text is Gregory, Archimandrite of the Peresopnytsky Monastery, the scribe is Mikhail Vasilyevich, son of Protopopian Syanotsky. The Peresopnytsia Gospel is a national relic on which the presidents of Ukraine solemnly swear allegiance to the Ukrainian people during the inauguration. The coin is made using the patination technology, the finishing element is local gilding (the gold content in the purity is not less than 0.001518 g).
