On the obverse of the coin are depicted: against the background of a circle a stylized heart with vessels, in a circle the inscription INSTITUTE OF CARDIOLOGY NAMED AFTER N.D. below - 2 grivni 2006, as well as the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine; on the left - a vertical composition consisting of drops and the names of sections of medicine.

On the reverse of the coin there is a portrait of N. D. Strazhesko, on the left vertically in three lines are the inscriptions: 1876 - 1952 / ACADEMIC / N. D. Strazhesko.

Dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of Nikolai Dmitrievich Strazhesko, a medical scientist who was the founder of Russian cardiology. Mykola Strazhesko is one of the founders of the current Institute of Cardiology of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, whose activities are characterized by a clinical and experimental research line. An invaluable contribution of a scientist and his associates to the treatment of diseases of the blood-forming organs is an atlas and a guide to hematology.
