The reverse of the coin depicts one of Chernigov’s visiting cards - the Catherine’s Church (a bird’s-eye view), which greets the guests of the city, and it’s placed: ).

Dedicated to the church, which is the embodiment of the best traditions of the national sacral architecture. The temple was built in the style of the Ukrainian Baroque in memory of the heroism of the Cossacks of the Chernigov regiment, which they discovered during the assault on the Turkish fortress of Azov in 1696 under the command of Colonel Yakov Lizogub. The church was built at the expense of the Cossack brothers Jacob and Semyon Lizogubiv, consecrated in 1715.
