The Theotokos-Rozhdestvensky Bobrenev Monastery is a male monastery located in the village of Staroye Bobrenevo, Kolomensky District, Moscow Region. According to legend, it was founded at the end of the XIV century by the Grand Duke Dmitry Donskoy and his voivode D.M. Bobrok-Volynsky on a vow after the victory in the Battle of Kulikovo. Although no documentary evidence of the construction time has survived, archaeological data confirm the early dating of the monastery. During the study of the modern Cathedral of the Nativity of the Mother of God, the foundations of an ancient temple dating from the second half of the 14th century were found. This made it possible to assume that a temple was found, in the foundation of which Dmitry Donskoy himself took part. Two stone churches have survived to this day: the cathedral in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, built in 1790 and significantly reconstructed in 1830, and the church in honor of the Theodorovskaya icon of the Mother of God with 2 side-chapels: the Kazan icon of the Mother of God and the Monk David of Thessaloniki (built in 1861). Among the shrines of the monastery, the Feodorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God is especially honored.
