On the obverse of the coin are placed: at the top is the small State Emblem of Ukraine (left), under which is the inscription UKRAINE; face value - 20 UAH (on the right); against the background of the outline of the domes of St. Sophia Cathedral, a model of reconstruction of the 11th century cathedral is depicted, under which there is a stylized scroll of Russian truth, on both sides of the scroll: the gilded credential of Prince Yaroslav the Wise (left) and the signature (right); the year of minting coins 2019 (bottom left).
The reverse of the coin depicts a stylized fragment of a chronicle miniature and the inscription: YAROSLAV WISE AT THE CHRIST (above), 1019 (below).
Dedicated to the final statement on the throne of Kiev (1019-1054), Grand Duke Yaroslav the Wise statesman, during which Kievan Rus reached the peak of its power. At the hand of Yaroslav Vladimirovich, the Kiev state strengthened and expanded its borders, strengthened its international position, and the culture of Russia reached its highest development.
