For the significant contribution of the residents of the city to achieving Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, ensuring uninterrupted production of military and civilian products at industrial enterprises, while demonstrating mass labor heroism and dedication, Perm was awarded the honorary title of the Russian Federation "City of Labor Valor". About 100 thousand Permians worked in the rear. Perm residents ensured uninterrupted production of military and civilian products at enterprises. In Perm, more than 13 million mortar shells, about 3 million rocket charges for Katyusha rockets, more than 10 million pairs of boots and helmets, 650 thousand telephones were produced and sent to the front. Every third artillery shell was equipped with a Perm fuse. All combat aircraft built during the war were provided with Permian fuel equipment. Two thirds of all rocket charges manufactured during the war by the country's powder industry were produced in Perm.
