For the significant contribution of the residents of the city to achieving Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, ensuring uninterrupted production of military and civilian products at industrial enterprises, while showing mass labor heroism and dedication, Novokuznetsk was awarded the honorary title of the Russian Federation "City of Labor Valor". Invaluable contribution to the common piggy bank of the Great Victory of the Kuznetsk home front workers. Kuznetsk metallurgists mastered the production technology of armored steel and its rolled products in the shortest possible time. Tank armor, aluminum, rails, coal, coke came in a continuous stream to various enterprises of the country, where there was also a stubborn labor battle with the enemy.
