The obverse of the coins contains: at the top right, the small State Emblem of Ukraine, in the center - the emblem of the Academy, semicircular inscriptions: UKRAINE 2004 (left), 2 hryvnia (bottom right) and the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine.

The reverse of the coins depicts the building of the Academy and the following inscriptions are placed: along the coin circumference - THE NATIONAL LEGAL ACADEMY OF UKRAINE. Yaroslav the Wise, under the building in two lines - 200 YEARS.

Dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the National Law Academy of Ukraine named after Yaroslav the Wise in the city of Kharkov, which is engaged in the preparation of highly qualified specialists for state authorities, local government, law enforcement agencies, various spheres of legal practice. Such well-known lawyers as M. Bazhanov, Bar, M. Bokarius, S. Vilnyansky, V. Gorshenov, M. Grodzinsky, V. Kolmakov, S. Fuks, V. Shelestov, V. Yanovsky and many others worked in it.
