The obverse of the coin depicts a stylized parchment with excerpts from the Tale of Temporary Lite. 2007, as well as the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.
On the reverse of the coin there is a composition that displays two historical stages of the city’s development - Old Russian and Cossack, between them - the Old Russian Cathedral (below), the city emblem (above), and also the inscriptions PERYASLAV-KHMELNITSKY (above), 1100 (below).
Dedicated to one of the oldest Ukrainian cities, first mentioned in the contract of Prince Oleg with the Greeks in 907 as one of the three largest cities of the Old Russian state.
