Stylized eagle - a symbol of Germany and the 12 stars of the European Union. The inscription "BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND" ("FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY"), the year of minting, as well as the sign of the mint.

The obverse shows the old part of the city: the cathedral, the mountain of the Archangel Michael and the old town hall as a link to the island town.
